Well-versed pro will be missed

I first heard about Harry McCawley in 1966 when he wrote a sports article involving me at the University of Tampa. He then wrote another article when I was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at the University of Tampa in 2012.

The best work he did was at our 50th class reunion in 2014 when he did a complete intro about every sports team at the YES Cinema. He introduced every player and did a complete analysis of every sports team.

He then met with Sam Simmermaker, Hall of Fame announcer, and me — and they reviewed the 1964 Columbus vs. Anderson basketball game and off-the-cuff analyzed the entire game with very few retakes.

What a professional Harry was and he will be greatly missed by the entire community.
