Columbus resident completes bereavement skills training

Columbus resident Jenny Lowry recently attended a bereavement skills training program.

Lowry is a co-facilitator of the grief support group at Mill Race Center, which is open to the public and meets from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the third Thursday of the month.

Her training session, “Comprehensive Bereavement Skills Training,” included 30 hours of classroom education by the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, Colorado, in conjunction with Colorado State University’s Division of Continuing Education.

Lowry retired from full-time ministry in 2014 from First Christian Church in Columbus.

The grief support group at Mill Race Center is free. Membership is not required, and all who are grieving the loss of a loved one are welcome to attend.
