Warriors topple Lancers

GASTON — Tyson Sackman threw touchdown passes to Hunter Dean and Dakota Balthazor Friday night, but it wasn’t enough in a 56-12 loss at Wes-Del.

The Warriors jumped out to a 22-0 lead after one quarter. The Lancers offense didn’t take the field until about 20 seconds remained in the first quarter.

“Overall, we hurt ourselves the whole night,” Edinburgh coach Jason Burton said. “They had a good gameplan and onside kicked every time they would score.”

The Lancers drop to 0-8 with Friday’s senior night game against Trinity Lutheran the final opportunity to get in the win column before the sectional begins.

“I’m 100-percent confident we are getting better,” Edinburgh coach Jason Burton said. “With so many young players, physicality-wise we haven’t caught up.”
