Reception for artist’s Halloween display slated

Artist Cindie Underwood-Vanderbur hopes to capture the Halloween drama of this Friday the 13th by holding an eerie reception for her “Halloween In Flight” art display at A Perfect Day Café.

The free reception is open to the public from 5 to 7 p.m. at the cafe, 221 E. Walnut St. in North Vernon.

“I know for a fact, there will be witches present at the reception, and we will welcome any other Halloween creatures that would like to join the fun. If they don’t all fit into the café, they can still hang out on the street outside and just have a good time,” said Judith Ross, owner of A Perfect Day Café.

Vanderbur has a Halloween-related art display every year in Jennings County, and this year she decided to have a reception after the cafe’s usual business hours to accommodate people who live out of town or work during the day.

“I am very excited about this year’s display, and I want everyone to have fun with it,” Vanderbur said.

Snacks and beverages will be available. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
