BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Police say a teenager’s condition is declining after he was shot in Alabama over the weekend.

Birmingham police said the 13-year-old had been in stable condition on Sunday after being shot in the stomach in the Gate City neighborhood on Saturday around 9 p.m. Lt. Sean Edwards told AL.com on Monday that the boy’s condition had worsened in the latest update.

The boy underwent surgery at a hospital he was taken to. His name has not been released.

Police have not announced any arrests.
