Discover ‘Columbus Past’ at learning center

Ivy Tech Community College – Columbus is hosting a free lecture series on the city’s past, present and future, sponsored by the University Library of Columbus and Ivy Tech Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

The series will have local residents and experts discussing the design, agriculture and notable characters that helped shape Columbus.

A “Columbus Past” presentation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Columbus Learning Center, 4555 Central Ave.

Speakers will include Greg Lewis, Columbus East High School social studies department chairman; Adam Rediker, Bartholomew County Historical Society education manager; and Dr. Tamara Iorio and David Secrest, local historians.

Zaharakos will provide free dessert at the event.
