Senior Girl Scout Marilyn Stanley, 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stanley of Fourth Street, was awarded scouting’s National Life Saving Medal after saving the life of an 8-year-old being swept away by the White River near Vallonia where Stanley’s troop was camping overnight during a canoe trip.
