Taxidermist ordered to return property to customers

BROWNSBURG — A Brownsburg taxidermist has been ordered to return property to customers, supervised by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating Kevin McGrotty, the owner of Brownsburg Taxidermy, serving a search warrant and an arrest warrant for him on Sep. 26.  McGrotty was jailed and charged with corrupt business practice and multiple counts of theft, according to conservation officers.

All customers of Brownsburg Taxidermy who wish to get their property back may attend one of the three dates set up for this exchange. Customers will need to bring any receipts, canceled checks or other items that may show ownership of an item, as well as some form of identification. If the owner of an item cannot make one of these dates, it will be acceptable to send a representative with the proper documentation.
