NEW YORK — Police say they’ve charged two teenagers in connection with the slaying of another teen at a New York City house project.

The New York Police Department says officers responded around 3:50 a.m. Thursday to a 911 call reporting a man shot outside the Gowanus Houses public housing complex. Officers found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot to his chest.

He was taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was later identified as Ramon Ortiz, who lived near the scene of the shooting.

The NYPD announced late Thursday night that detectives had arrested a 17-year-old Brooklyn man and charged him with murder. Police also charged an 18-year-old man with criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence.
