Driver dies after two-vehicle collision in Jennings County

JENNINGS COUNTY — A St. Paul woman is dead after a two-vehicle collision on State Road 750E, east of County Road 200N.

Indiana State Police were sent to the accident at 8:45 a.m. Monday, said Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, Indiana State Police spokesman.

A 2012 Ford van driven by Christean M. Price, 51, Seymour was traveling east on State Road 750 when for an unknown reason it crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound black 2000 Toyota Sienna minivan driven by Angela M. Abston, 49, St. Paul, Wheeles said.

The vehicles collided in the westbound lane of State Road 750. After the collision, Price’s vehicle overturned and stopped in the middle of the road, Wheeles said. Abston’s vehicle left the north side of the road before stopping.

Abston was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jennings County Coroner’s office, Wheeles said.

Price suffered serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Four other people in Price’s vehicle suffered minor injuries, Wheeles said. They were all transported to St. Vincent’s Jennings Hospital for treatment.
