Etta “Jo” Curtis, 78, of Columbus, passed from this life at 10:24 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at her home.
Jo was a retired Foster Parent and was a member of friends of Bill W. since September 1, 1983.
In keeping with Jo’s wishes cremation will take place.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to State Street Community Center.

Jo was born February 28, 1939 in Decatur County. She was the daughter of Clarence Orlin and Irene Lucille Powers Stuart.
She married Howard Burke Curtis on October 30, 1976.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years; her daughters, Deborah Smith of Columbus and Sherryl Noblitt of Rockford, IL; stepsons, Tim Curtis of Beloit, Wisconsin, Jeff (Marge) Curtis of Loves Park, Illinois, Howie Curtis of Rockford, Illinois and James Curtis of Lake Mills, Wisconsin; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy (Ervin) Linde of Iowa, Lillian Lucille Tannenbaum of Florida and Vickie (Don) Turner of Thornfield, Missouri; and her brother, Daniel (Chong) Reetz of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence O. Stuart; her mother Irene L. Reetz; sons, Anthony and Robert Noblitt; and a brother, Clarence Edward Stuart.
The family would like to say “thank you” to Jo’s oldest granddaughter, Janetta Owlsey McMeans for being there for her grandmother and loving her with all her heart.
