Board of works approves contract for walking path

Columbus has approved a contract with an Edinburgh company to build a walking path on Marr Road.

The Columbus Board of Works on Tuesday approved a contract with Case Construction of Edinburgh for $241,622.37.

Case will build an 8-foot wide concrete walking path to connect residents who live near the 10th Street intersection to the area of the Cummins Fuel Systems Plant.

Community Development Block Grant money will pay for the path and intersection improvements at 10th Street and Marr Road. The side path work is to be completed by April, with the intersection upgrades completed by July.
