Roy James West

HOPE

Roy James West, 70, of Hope, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Roy spent most of his life as a union carpenter with Dunlap. After retirement, he was a maintenance manager at Miller’s Merry Manor for another 6 years. But above all in life, he wanted to be a father. He succeeded at this endeavor and lived to see his fourth and fifth grandsons be born, just months before passing. In truth, he dedicated his life in service of his loved ones. He was a family man above all else.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home with Rev. David Bragg officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Hawcreek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Miller’s Merry Manor Activity Fund.

Born on October 24, 1946 in Burney, Roy was the son of James Edward and Effie C. Winchester West. He married Martha Bell on October 9, 1982, and she survives.
