Four Columbus Police officers, Sgt. Matt Harris, Patrolmen J.T. Wright and Ben Quesenbery, and an officer who often worked undercover and was not named, were decorated for risking their lives to save victims of a fiery crash on State Road 11 south of Bartholomew County Fairgrounds.

A 1992 Spartan-Darley pumper truck with leading technology, including a retro-vision camera on the rear and a small television monitor in the cab, was delivered to Columbus Fire Station No. 1 at 11th and Washington streets.
