Michael A. “Mike” Hendrix, 47, of Edinburgh, passed away October 22, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born February 9, 1970 in Franklin. He was the son of Jon I. and Sheila (Burton) Hendrix.
He is survived by his mother of Edinburgh; a stepsister, Angela (John) Schultz of Jacksonville, Florida; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Denise Anette Burton; grandparents, Wilmer and Pearl Burton, and Marshall and Betty Hendrix.
He was a member of Blue River Baptist Church in Edinburgh. He enjoyed attending church, being a greeter and singing “Amazing Grace.”
He participated in Indiana Special Olympics.
He enjoyed going to the fire department.
He was an IU basketball fan, enjoyed attending Edinburgh Lancer basketball games, and was a Tony Stewart NASCAR fan.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 by the Rev. Justin Surface at Blue River Baptist Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
