BUTTE, Mont. — A man was sentenced to 40 years in Montana State Prison for running over another man with his own pickup.

The Montana Standard reports District Judge Brad Newman on Monday imposed concurrent 40-year prison sentences on William Luke Segna with no chance of parole for at least 15 years.

Segna must also pay Scott Cunningham and his family $177,528 in restitution, if he is ever able.

Segna had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of robbery and one count of aggravated assault in exchange for prosecutors dropping six other charges.

Cunningham lost part of his foot and suffered a broken jaw, femur, and ribs among other serious injuries after Segna ran him over while fleeing police.
