CHESTER SPRINGS, Pa. — Police are searching for a driver suspected of hitting a teen girl, her mother and their dog in Pennsylvania before fleeing the scene.

WCAU-TV reports 16-year-old Annie Hillegas was walking with the other two Friday around 5 p.m. in West Pikeland Township when a white truck came toward them. The girl’s mother tried yelling at them to get out of the way before the truck ran them over.

A neighbor found the three and called 911. Hillegas was hospitalized with cracked ribs and broken bones, and she is still listed in critical condition. The girl’s mother and dog escaped with minor injuries.

Authorities say the truck carried a ladder in the back and had red lettering on its side. The driver has been identified as a white male.
