ATHENS, Ala. — An Alabama woman has been arrested for exposing her child to meth and other drugs.

Athens police Investigator Joe McClanahan told that Diamond Lee White was arrested Tuesday after a test detected in meth in the child’s system. Police records show that the test detected meth, amphetamine and cocaine on Sept. 28.

Records show the child was in foster care while White was in the hospital detoxing from drugs. The mother, who also tested positive for meth, was taken to the hospital on Sept. 18 after the child was born in March.

A police report states White admitted to using methamphetamine in her vehicle and taking her child to places where drugs had been used.

White was released from the Limestone County Jail on $5,000 bail after a two-hour stay.
