Max K. Joslin

SWANSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA

Max K. Joslin, 81, of Swansboro, North Carolina, formerly of Columbus, died at 5:30 a.m. October 24, 2017, at his residence.

Max was born August 7, 1936, in Columbus, the son of Willis O. and Nina Everroad Joslin. He married Maxine Clark in 1962 and she preceded him in death.

Max was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was previously employed by both Cummins Engine Company and Reliance Electric. He was an avid golfer.

Calling will be from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Private entombment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery Mausoleum with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charities.

Survivors include his sons, Dale E. (Cynthia) Joslin of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Mike (Melissa) Joslin of Cedar Point, North Carolina; a daughter, Rita D. (Dan) Shrader of Franklin; grandchildren, Jason (Natalie) Joslin, Jessica (Nathan) Hellwege, Justin Hardwick, Joshua (Kirstyn) Hardwick, Matt Shrader and Joel (Mardi) Shrader; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Maxine.
