Reporter to speak at NAACP banquet

A Columbus native and broadcast journalist will speak at the annual Freedom Fund Scholarship Banquet of the Bartholomew County Area Chapter of the NAACP.

Kyle Inskeep, a Fox 59 television news reporter in Indianapolis, will speak on the event’s theme, “Steadfast and Immovable,” said Stella Collins, chapter president.

The event, which generally focuses on issues impacting race and equality while raising money for college scholarships for local students, will be 6 p.m. Nov. 2 at Donner Center, 739 22nd St. in Columbus. Tickets are $30 and available at Viewpoint Books, 548 Washington St. in Columbus through the day of the event.

Inskeep, a Columbus East High School graduate, was a recipient of one of the local NAACP scholarships in 2008. He graduated magna cum laude from Butler University with a degree in electronic journalism.
