NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Police say a 73-year-old Vermont woman is dead after she was struck by a car last week near Norwich University.

Northfield police say Ellin Lord died Tuesday night from the Oct. 15 collision. WCAX-TV reports the woman lived right at the intersection where she was hit, and she was not walking at a crosswalk.

The collision took place around 11 a.m. where officers found Lord lying in the road shortly after the driver had made a left turn and struck her.

No charges have been filed against the driver. The state’s attorney is reviewing the case.
