Isaac “I.J.” Chadwell

FREETOWN, INDIANA

Mr. Isaac “I.J.” Chadwell Jr., 85, of Freetown, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Life Path Hospice of Sun City.

He was born on September 15, 1932, in Lake, Kentucky, to the late Isaac and Bertha (Gregory) Chadwell.

He was a member of the Jackson County Republican Club.

He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was retired from Cummins Diesel.

He was a Kentucky Colonel and received his title from Kentucky Governor John Y. Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Chadwell; children, Jerry (Yolanda) Chadwell, Nancy (Randy) Borden and Alice Chadwell; brother, Lowell (Pearl) Chadwell and sister, Grace Bruner,.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Roxie Barnard, Doxie McDaniel, Opal Zerke and Pearl Parman.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday, October 29, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Doug Nuss officiating. Burial will follow at Freetown Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
