The 17th annual Honoring Veterans Banquet will be Nov. 4 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 12210 N. Executive Drive, Edinburgh.
The event, organized by the Honoring Veterans Committee in Bartholomew County, is from 5 to 8 p.m. and begins with a social hour, followed by a buffet dinner and guest speakers.
The highlight of the event will be presentation of the Patriot Award to an individual or organization in the community with a history of championing the cause of military veterans and active duty troops.
A special tribute will be made in memory of Harry McCawley, the late associate editor of The Republic, for his support and contributions to veterans causes over many years.
McCawley was among four people to receive the first Patriot Award, presented in 2001 to John Foster, Wes Roy and retired Lt. Col. Richard Yeaton.
