Brown County off-road vehicle crash kills Fishers man, injures child

NASHVILLE, Ind. — Department of Natural Resources conservation officers are investigating an off-road vehicle crash that killed a Fishers man and sent a child to the hospital, officers said.

Joseph Fenton, 38, was driving a 2015 Yamaha Grizzly 500 eastbound in the 3000 block of Marlett Road in Nashville at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the crash occurred, said Markie Throgmorton, DNR Law Enforcement public information officer.

Fenton had a child passenger with him, Throgmorton said.

Evidence on scene suggests Fenton veered off the gravel road causing the off-road vehicle to flip several times and land on its side, she said.

Fenton and the child were tossed from the vehicle and found by a family member, Throgmorton said.

Fenton was pronounced dead at the scene, the officer said. The child was transported by LifeLine medical helicopter to Indiana University Health Riley Hospital for Children with a laceration to his head, she said.
