Ronald L. Freese

Ronald L. Freese, MSgt, U.S. Air Force (Retired), 80, of Sioux Trail, died at 8:30 p.m. October 25, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Ronald was born September 19, 1937, in Columbus, the son of Ernest Freese and Christine Curran Marcum.

He married Carol Riebersal March 12, 2009.

He graduated from Columbus High School in 1955. He served his nation for 40 years as a veteran of both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force, and retired as a civil servant from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Ronald attended Grace Lutheran Church and had a passion for his pets and being outdoors.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2017, at Grace Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Armstrong officiating.

Per Ronald’s request, his cremated remains will be scattered at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to C.A.R.E., Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Freese; daughters, Sheryl Caliguire of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline FitzGerald of Belmont, California, and Helen Freese of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a stepson, Chris Mabis of Columbus; stepdaughter, Kelly Lunato of Huron, Ohio; a sister, Barbara L. Olkiewicz of Columbus; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Freese; mother, Christine Marcum; and a son, Brian J. Freese, U.S. Army.
