COLUMBUS
Zachary Alan Bruning, 28, of Columbus, died at 7:56 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Zachary was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for 28 years. He was a lifelong hockey player and a member of the “Icemen”. He loved fishing and he loved to laugh.
Mr. Bruning was born February 13, 1989, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Bill and Jan Ford Bruning.
Surviving are his brother, Matthew (Kendra Stillinger) Bruning; niece, Kyra Bruning; sister, Leigha Ruth Bruning; mother, Jan Ford Bruning; father, Bill Bruning; grandfather, Charles (Judy) Ford, all of Columbus; aunts and uncles, David (Amy) Ford of Bedford, Rob (Kristine) Ford of Shelbyville, Melody Heck of Columbus, Beth Bruning of Chattanooga, TN, Brad (Donna) Bruning of Columbus, Brian (Liz) Bruning of Carmel, Bob (Tammi) Bruning of N.C.; and many, many cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandmother, Ruth David Ford and grandparents, Max (Elsie Mae) Bruning.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Teike officiating. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at church.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena.
