Police stop vehicle linked to ‘shots fired’ call

Columbus police have pulled over a vehicle believed to have been involved in a “shots fired” incident on Smith Street on the city’s east side.

A description of the car was broadcast to officers at about 2:45 p.m., said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

The car pulled out in front of a Columbus police officer shortly after that broadcast and was stopped at State and Mapleton streets on the city’s east side, Harris said. No injuries were reported.
