2 taken to hospital after school bus accident

Two people were transported to Columbus Regional Health after a Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. school bus was involved in an accident last month.

The 6:30 a.m. accident Oct. 19 occurred after a vehicle struck the rear of a bus that was stopped on State Road 46, said Karen Wetherald, BCSC transportation manager.

Five students were on the bus at the time of the incident. One student was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, Wetherald said. The other four students were eventually picked up by another bus at Southside Elementary School, she said.

The driver also was transported to the hospital after complaining of back pain, she said.
