NEW CASTLE, Del. — Police in Delaware say a 65-year-old woman was injured when she was dragged by an SUV during a purse snatching.

State police say the woman was unlocking the door to her car Tuesday evening in New Castle. Authorities say an SUV pulled alongside her, and a passenger reached out of the window and grabbed her purse.

The SUV sped away while the woman was still holding onto the purse. Troopers say she was dragged briefly, then fell to the ground, still holding her purse.

The woman was taken to a hospital with head and hip injuries.
