COLUMBUS
Emma B. Gross, 83, of Fairington Court, died at 10:20 a.m. October 30, 2017, at her home.
Emma was born January 3, 1934, in Columbus, the daughter of John and Lavera Thornburg McDaniels.
She married George Gross in 1986 and he preceded her in death October 10, 1991.
She was faithful to have breakfast at Skooters’ every morning. She loved her family and her cat, Spirit.
The funeral will be conducted at 1p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tracy McIntyre officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen L. (Randy) Jessee of Columbus and Linda (Alfred Topie) Smith of Edinburgh; brothers, Jimmy McDaniels of Seymour, Steve McDaniels of Columbus, John McDaniels and Jerry McDaniels of Seymour; sisters, Patty Morrison of Seymour and Janie Nichols; grandchildren, Debbie Smith, Kevin Smith, Eric Smith, Mandy Bradish and Hannah Elsner; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father, John McDaniels; mother, Lavera Morrison; husband, George; a daughter, Joyce Elsner; and a brother, Darrell McDaniels.
