FRANKFORT, Ind. — Police say a central Indiana man fatally shot an intruder who had entered his home.

Frankfort police say the shooting occurred Tuesday night in that city about 40 miles northwest of Indianapolis. When officers arrived at the home, they attempted to revive the intruder but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clinton County Coroner identified him Wednesday as 37-year-old Kevin Huffer of Frankfort.

Police say they detained the shooter for questioning. His name has not been released, and no charges have been filed.
