Jenny’s Picks – November 2

1) I have been an upright bass player for more than half my life now and, although I’m nowhere near as good as Harlequin Theatre’s Robert Hay-Smith, I am good enough to stop by the Columbus Bluegrass Jamboree with my bass. The Jamboree is 4 p.m. Saturday at Donner Center, 739 22nd St., Columbus. Bring your instrument to join. Various groups will start playing at 5 p.m. The Jamboree will feature bluegrass and gospel by Common Ground, Liberty Hill, Cumberland Gap and Friends of Bluegrass. Donations will be accepted and snacks will be available for purchase. Jamboree is sponsored by Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center, in cooperation with Columbus Parks and Recreation and the Columbus Area Arts Council, 812-379-2408.

2) Get another jump on your holiday shopping at the 20th Annual Holiday Creations Craft Show and Sale, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 11, Donner Center, 739 22nd St., Columbus. There, you’ll find brand-new handicrafts and goodies to stash away until December. Admission to the public on Nov. 11 is free. Sponsored by the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department.
