Columbus resident facing several drug charges

Columbus police arrested a local man in a vehicle on drug-related charges after members of the department’s Intelligence Led Policing Unit received a tip on his whereabouts.

Officers arrested George C. Moore, 51, of 1719 Central Ave., at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday on South Lincoln Village Drive on a failure to appear warrant for a hearing on a dealing in methamphetamine charge and preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Moore had failed to appear for a sentencing hearing on the dealing charge, Harris said.

He is being held without bond in the Bartholomew County Jail, jail officials said.
