NORFOLK, Va. — Police in Norfolk are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and two others injured.

Police said in a statement that officers were dispatched to a residential street around 3 a.m. Saturday after gunshots were heard in the area.

The statement says that when officers arrived, they found two adult men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Medics pronounced one man dead at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

While police were at the scene, a car traveling through the Downtown Tunnel stopped at an inspection station and a third man was found with a gunshot wound. He was treated and released on scene.

Police believe the incidents are related.

No suspect information was immediately released.
