Eagles fall in 3 OTs

NASHVILLE — Brown County’s Dasia Wilkerson banked in a 30-footer as time expired in regulation, and Allison Stogsdill hit a game-tying 3-pointer in the closing seconds of the first overtime, but Bloomfield ended up pulling out a 53-49 triple overtime win.

Wilkerson finished with 16 points to lead the Eagles, who were playing their season opener. Aubrey Hollander added 11.

Dragons edge Panthers

SELLERSBURG — Jennings County rallied from a 22-11 halftime deficit to force overtime, but did not score in the extra period in a 40-38 season-opening loss at Silver Creek.

Baylee Byford and Macy Roth each scored nine points to lead the Panthers. Addyson Kent added eight.

Spartans top Cougars

SHELBYVILLE — South Decatur jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but ran into foul trouble, and Southwestern (Shelby) rallied for a 56-40 Mid-Hoosier Conference win.

The Spartans went 21 for 32 from the free-throw line to 7 for 14 for the Cougars (0-2, 0-1). Madison Owens led South Decatur with 11 points, and Taylor Best added 10.
