MILTON, N.H. — Police say a hunter entering the woods in a New Hampshire town was shot at, and they are investigating.

Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss tells WMUR-TV the hunter wasn’t hurt Sunday afternoon. Residents on one road were told to stay inside with their doors locked, but that order was lifted by Sunday night.

Krauss said information given to police led them to believe the shooter was inside a house, but no one was found inside.
