HENDERSON, Nev. — A 50-year-old Henderson woman has been arrested as a suspect in the fatal stabbing of her husband during a domestic dispute.

KLAS-TV in Las Vegas reports the victim had called Henderson police to serve as a civil standby while he retrieved some property at a residence on Saturday.

But police say he didn’t wait for the officers to arrive and an argument began when he entered the home.

Police say that during the argument, Shirron Gayles-Zanders allegedly stabbed her husband with a knife.

Officers began life-saving efforts, but he died at the scene.

Police say Gayles-Zanders has been booked on suspicion of murder. It’s not clear if she has a lawyer or will be appointed one at a pending court appearance.

The victim’s name has not been released.
