Senior planning to help Animal Care Services

A Columbus East High School senior will host a fundraiser to benefit Columbus Animal Care Services.

Lillian Wilson is planning the second annual Doggone 5K Fun Run/Walk from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 18 at Ceraland, 3989 S. County Road 525E.

The event will support Animal Care Services’ adoption medical fund. Registration for the event is $25 for participants who want a T-shirt and $15 for those who want to participate but decline the shirt.

Registration is available by visiting getmeregistered.com/DoggoneFunRun. Participants also can register in person the day of the event.

Wilson hopes to raise $2,000 for Animal Care Services because animals have been an important part of her life.

Animal Care Services, 2730 Arnold Drive, is the animal shelter for the city of Columbus. Wilson wants the money from her event to be used to help animals with medical needs.

Participants are asked to arrive at 9 a.m. to sign in and receive their T-shirt, with the walk beginning at 10 a.m.

Adoption applications also will be available at the event for anyone interested in adopting an animal.
