SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Police are investigating the home invasion and abduction of a 94-year-old woman from her Scottsdale residence.

Scottsdale police say a man forced his way into the woman’s home about 6 a.m. Tuesday.

At some point during the incident, the victim was bound, placed in the trunk of her car and driven away from the scene.

At just after 1:30 p.m., police say the woman was able to free herself from the trunk of her car that was in a parking lot of the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall.

A passer-by called 911 and the woman was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

Police say they have a description of the suspect, who appears to be in his mid-30s.
