RICHLAND, Miss. — Authorities say deputies delivered five pounds (2.30 kilograms) of marijuana to a Mississippi home and arrested three people.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office told news outlets that Richland police contacted narcotics officers about an intercepted package that might contain illegal drugs Thursday. Investigators say the package was sent from California to an individual at a Mississippi address.

Authorities say deputies delivered the package to the address, and that it was accepted by Misty Adams.

Authorities say they later found several items, including digital scales, syringes and marijuana pipes. Investigators believe Akers’ mother sent the package.

A sheriff’s office press release says Adams, David Beard and Thomas Akers II were inside the residence and were arrested for controlled substance violations. It’s unclear if they have lawyers.
