The following governmental agencies be closed for observances of Veterans Day:
- All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Saturday. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday. For a complete list of branch locations and hours, or to conduct an online transaction, visit myBMV.com.
- The Bartholomew County Courthouse and county offices are closed on Friday.
- Columbus City Hall and city offices are closed on Friday.
- Columbus trash/recycling/compost and brush collections will run on a normal schedule on Friday. Loose leaf collection will resume on Monday. Please have toters out by 7 a.m. The Department of Public Works office is closed Friday, and reopens at 7 a.m. Monday.
- The Columbus City Utilities Office will be closed Friday. Regular business hours will resume Monday at 8 a.m. Customers who have a problem with water or sewer service should call our business office at 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
- Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District office and the Columbus/Bartholomew County Recycling Center, 720 S. Mapleton St. in Columbus, will be closed Friday. The Bartholomew County Landfill, 811 E. County Road 450S in Columbus, will be open normal hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
