Carolyn Pitt, retired executive director of resource development at Ivy Tech, was honored as the first winner of the Legacy Award in recognition of her years of service and commitment to providing student assistance through the Ivy Tech Foundation.

1992

Joseph Hart Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution dedicated a historical marker honoring Revolutionary War hero Jonathan Moore, a member of Gen. George Washington’s elite corps of soldiers who was buried in a tiny Bartholomew County cemetery 149 years earlier.

1967

Nearly 50 marching and mobile units, including Columbus High School’s Big Blue Band, floats and color guards, paraded down Washington Street in the biggest Veterans Day observance in years.
