NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Top Vermont officials are helping remember on Veterans Day people who lost family members who died while defending the country.

On Friday, Republican Gov. Phil Scott attended the unveiling in Northfield of the Hershel “Woody” Williams Gold Star Families Memorial Monument.

Also attending the ceremony were representatives of the Vermont National Guard and the state’s congressional delegation.

The memorial is located near the Kreitzberg Library on the campus of Norwich University, the nation’s oldest private military college.
