PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Providence police say a person is in custody but no charges have been filed in the death of a woman whose concealed body was found by her adult children in her home.

Forty-four-year-old Manirino Nkinamubanzi was discovered inside the Providence home Friday evening. The woman’s daughter had reported her missing two hours before her body was found. The mother of four had been dead for about 24 hours.

Maj. David Lapatin tells The Providence Journal on Monday the suspect knew the victim. A person was taken into custody in connection with the slaying, but he hasn’t been charged pending further investigation.

Police say the woman and her family had moved to Providence from Congo about a year ago.
