BCSC teachers participate in math conference

Four Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. math teachers presented at the Indiana Council of Mathematics Teachers Fall Conference in Indianapolis earlier this month.

Columbus North High School teacher Mike Spock presented a session “This is Getting Real: Having Students Apply Mathematics by Creating Models for the World Around Them” during the conference, which was conducted Nov. 5 and 6 at the Indianapolis Marriott East hotel. North teachers Brad Branham and Dale Nowlin, who served as past president of the council, also presented during the conference.

CSA — New Tech math teacher Josh Giebel, who serves as a department editor for the council’s journal, presented a session on “Project Based Learning in the Math Classroom” at the conference.

Judges sought for senior project presentations

Columbus North High School is seeking volunteers to help judge senior project presentations.

Shifts are available in the morning from 7:45 to 11:05 a.m., while an afternoon shift will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The presentations are scheduled for Nov. 27 to Dec. 1, Dec. 4 to 8 and Dec. 11 to 15.
