Sheriff’s department investigates mailbox, sign damage

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a rash of mailbox and street sign vandalism that occurred over the weekend.

Deputies said the damage was mainly in the southwest part of the county and occurred between late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, deputies said.

Many of the signs and mailboxes were run over by a vehicle, investigators said. Numerous mailboxes on Sprague Road, Deaver Road and County 300S were damaged in addition to mailboxes on West County Road 450S and South County Road 225W, deputies said.
