PAROWAN, Utah — Southern Utah sheriff’s deputies have arrested two women in a stolen vehicle who led officers on a high-speed chase on Interstate 15.

The sheriff’s office says a deputy spotted a stolen 2013 Lincoln MKS traveling northbound on I-15 about 20 miles north of Cedar City shortly after 2 a.m. Monday.

Deputies tried to pull them over, but they took off at speeds up to 120 mph. They exited the interstate near Parowan and continued to try to evade the officers before driving off the road and fleeing on foot.

A Utah Highway Patrol K9 unit helped track them down about a half-mile away.

The sheriff says a 24-year-old West Valley City woman and a 33-year-old Murray woman were taken to the Iron County Jail.

In addition to stolen vehicle charges, one of them faces drug and weapon charges.
