WAUKESHA, Wis. — Police say three Waukesha schools were put on lockout after a report of someone with a gun in a nearby yard.
A resident reported seeing the man with a gun in their backyard just after 3 p.m. Wednesday. Police squad cars responded and set up a perimeter in the neighborhood.
As a precaution, neighboring schools were put on lockout for nearly an hour while officers investigated the call. The affected schools were Waukesha North High School, Lowell Elementary School and Summit View Elementary School.
Officers interviewed the caller and searched the area but did not find the subject. The lockout was lifted just after 4 p.m., and the schools resumed normal activities.
