Rosalyn “Rose” Norman, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Nov. 16, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Rose was born on May 18, 1931 in Columbus, Indiana to Elmer and Emma (Voelz) Nolting. She married Dallas Norman on August 5, 1956. He preceded her in death August 1987.

Rose was a graduate of Columbus High School. She was employed by Irwin Union Bank for over 40 years. She held the office of Bartholomew County Recorder for three terms. Rose was the manager of the Columbus License Branch as well. She was the president of the American Cancer Society and a member of the Republican Womens Committee.

Rose was a life long member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her passions included her dog, Windsor, and gardening.

The funeral will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Columbus with Pastor Patrick Galligar officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time at St. Peters. Private inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran School or the Bartholomew County Humane Society.

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Norman Nasby of Columbus and Deena Dickerson (Gregg) of Denver, Colorado; and son, Steve (Janae) Norman of Hope, IN. Grandchildren include Candace Michael, Seth and Lane Nasby, Christina, Chelsea and Chad Dickerson, Kat, Sierra and Lucy Norman; great-grandson, Landyn Michael; and brother, Charlie (Betty) Nolting.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dallas; and siblings, Butch and Danny Nolting, Eileen Forster and Lucy Arnholt.
