SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police say a tip led them to the remains of a man they believe was killed five to seven years ago.
Police Sgt. Brandon Shearer says the victim found buried near a canal in an industrial area Saturday was a Hispanic man in his mid-30s at the time of his death.
His first name was Ignacio and his last name is unknown. He often went by the nickname “Nacho.”
Police are asking the public for help in fully identifying the man.
The man’s body was found at a property used by Los Lobos Paving and Construction.
Police arrested the company’s owner Carlos Clemente Trevizo-Acosta in connection with the killing.
Trevizo-Acosta does not yet have a listed attorney or a working listed phone number where someone could be reached to comment on his behalf.
